After extensive rebuilding work, in October 2000, The Brambles Nursery School was officially opened by Government Minister Margaret Hodge MP as one of the few settings designated by the Department for Education and Employment as an Early Excellence Centre.
Children in the Nursery are taught by fully qualified staff and follow the 'Foundation Stage' curriculum. This gives them a first-rate preparation for the 'Early Learning Goals' which they aim to achieve by the end of their first year in infant school.
Already renowned for the quality of the nursery education and adult and child groups it offered, the school was designated as a Children's Centre in 2005. As a result, we are now able to offer year-round childcare from 7.45am to 6pm for children aged from 6 months to school age.
In June 2008 two Ofsted inspections of the childcare provision and of the nursery education judged all areas as either good or outstanding.
